Sampyo Group, a construction materials maker, will run a pet supply exchange and donation program at Sampyo Garden in Seoul Forest, in the capital's Seongdong District.
The company said on the 15th that it will operate the "Dog and Cat Swap Shop" and the "Caricature Lounge" at Sampyo Garden for four days — every Friday and Saturday from the 16th through the 24th of this month — in partnership with the Seongdong District Volunteer Center.
The program was arranged ahead of the closing of the 2026 Seoul International Garden Show. At the swap shop, visitors can bring unused pet supplies from home and trade them for other items. Eligible items for exchange or donation include unopened food and treats with at least three months left before expiration; clothing, bowls and carriers that are unused or have been washed and disinfected; and unused training pads and cleaning products. Opened food and treats, homemade treats, pet medications, and items that are damaged or heavily soiled will not be accepted.
Visitors who donate items rather than exchange them receive a pass to the Caricature Lounge, where a professional artist draws caricatures of donors with their pets.
The program runs on the outdoor deck of Sampyo Garden from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the 16th, 17th and 23rd, and from noon to 6 p.m. on the 24th. Participants who post about their visit on social media will receive a waste bag case.
"We designed the program hoping that visitors to Seoul Forest and Sampyo Garden can create special memories with their pets," an official at Sampyo Group said. "We also hope Sampyo Garden remains a space shared with the public after the garden show ends."
