Srikakulam Parliamentary wing Coordinator and senior doctor Daneti Sridhar on Friday said that Jana Sena Party would win Srikakulam mayor’s post with a thumping majority due to the clean image and effective administration of JSP president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for the last two years.
He thanked Mr. Pawan Kalyan, Political Affairs Committee Chairman N. Manohar and JSP MLC P. Hari Prasad for taking the initiative for the allocation of Srikakulam corporation seat to JSP during talks held with alliance parties Telugu Desam and Bharatiya Janata Party. Speaking to media here, he said that the election was not held for Srikakulam mayor’s post for the last 16 years due to legal tangles with regard to merger of nearby villages in the Corporation.
“Now, all the decks were cleared. The State Election Commission is likely to hold election in Srikakulam very soon after getting the required papers over the court clearances. The election may be postponed for a couple of months but the winning of the seat is certain for the JSP. We will utilise the time to explain our local manifesto to the people. Focus will be on street lighting, drainage in all streets, dedicated water supply, civic infrastructure in villages which are to be merged with the Corporation very soon,” said Dr. Sridhar.
He said that the party had given a nod to field his wife and academician Daneti Radha Rani as the mayor seat was reserved for BC-women. Dr. Sridhar said that the support of TDP and BJP would be taken to win the seat with a huge majority.
