The Tampa Bay Lightning have a new all-time points leader, and he broke the record at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Nikita Kucherov scored the 1,138th point of his career on a first-period power play assist against the Utah Mammoth on Saturday.
Brayden Point, who has connected with Kucherov on 351 of those points, scored the goal.
Longtime Lightning forward Steven Stamkos previously held the record. He left the team as a free agent in 2024 and currently plays for the Nashville Predators.
Stamkos and Kucherov played 604 games together and factored in on 300 goals together, according to the NHL media relations department.

Mammoth defenseman Mikhail Sergachev played seven seasons with Kucherov, and the pair won the Stanley Cup twice together.
Sergachev gave his thoughts on his former teammate before the game.
“He works on his game, watches clips. You know, he’s kind of annoying with it. Like, he’s always on the plane — it’s a flight back from (Los Angeles), like four and a half hours, he’ll be watching clips for four and a half hours and studying the game,” Sergachev said.
“That shows, obviously, on the ice. He takes care of the little details.”
Mammoth head coach André Tourigny coached Kucherov when Kucherov was teenager with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the 2012-13 season and raved before the game about Kucherov’s intelligence and maturity, even at a young age.
Kucherov now holds 17 league-recognized franchise records:
- Most points
- Most assists
- Most points in a season
- Most assists in a season
- Most 30-goal seasons (tied with Stamkos)
- Most consecutive 30-goal seasons (tied with Vincent Lecavalier)
- Most 100-point seasons
- Most consecutive 100-point seasons
- Most individual awards (tied with Martin St. Louis)
- Longest goal streak (tied with Brian Bradley)
- Longest assist streak
- Most multi-point games
- Most three-point games
- Most four-point games
- Most five-point games
- Most three-assist games
- Most four-assist games
At the time of writing, the Lightning lead the Mammoth 3-2 through 20 minutes. Former Utah Grizzlies defenseman Charle-Edouard D’Astous opened the scoring and added an assist on the record-breaking goal.
