Sources at the facility told TMZ that the injury was not life-threatening, and that Combs was conscious and able to speak throughout the ordeal.
What caused the injury?
The circumstances surrounding how Combs sustained the injury remain unclear. Neither prison officials nor federal authorities have offered an explanation.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment, citing privacy, safety and security concerns.
His spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, issued a brief statement to Page Six and USA Today:
"We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances. Sean's health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out."
Combs' time behind bars
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility situated roughly 40 miles outside Philadelphia. He was convicted in July 2025.
His projected release date has shifted on several occasions. Initially set for May 8, 2028, it was later moved to February 2028 and most recently listed as 2 March 2028, according to People and NBC.
The weekend hospitalisation is not the first turbulent moment Combs has faced since beginning his sentence.
Reports indicate he was involved in a physical altercation with a fellow inmate in July and has been placed in solitary confinement twice during the year.
All available reports confirm the injury is not believed to be life-threatening and that Combs has since been returned to FCI Fort Dix.
Was Diddy's prison time pushed forward?
We also highlighted facts about Diddy’s early release from prison after he joined a drug abuse rehabilitation programme.
The programme reportedly moved his expected release date forward from 4 June 2028 to 25 April 2028, as his appeal and return to public life remain under close scrutiny.
