Historic racing ace Callum Grant has returned to the top of the Autosport National Rankings as the end of the season begins to loom fast.
Two more wins for Grant at Silverstone last weekend, this time at the wheel of his Merlyn Mk20A Formula Ford 1600 machine, has leapfrogged him back ahead of William Antrobus onto 17 for the season.
Grant could not quite win either of the two Historic FF1600 races, in which he was respectively pipped by 0.187 seconds and a mere 0.032s. But he also took part in the Classic FF1600 action, winning one of them overall and taking a class victory in the other.
Oddly, Grant and Antrobus were in action on adjacent circuits over the weekend. While Grant was successful in the Northamptonshire part of Silverstone on the National layout, Antrobus could not add any victories on the International track in Buckinghamshire during the Mazda MX-5 SuperCup round, leaving him stuck on a tally of 16 for the season.
The Autosport National Rankings is a table to illustrate who has won the most car races in the UK and Ireland during the season, with each victory counting equally.
And there was a lot of movement in the top 50 at the weekend, with many championships beginning to conclude their seasons.

A new face in the top three is Aaron Cooke. He has spent most of the campaign in Legends, but his recent move into the GT Cup in a McLaren Artura GT4 netted him two class wins at Snetterton last weekend, and he is up five places to third in the table.
Bob Barron has dominated the Racing Hondas scene this year with his Civic, but took in the Scottish Modsports round at Knockhill last weekend in the same car. His three class victories have propelled him up nine positions to sixth.
Back at Snetterton, Jake McAleer’s double with his 997S in the Porsche Club series has lifted him four spots to ninth.
Richard Jepp was on form at the Silverstone International Circuit, taking his Peugeot 108 to a brace of CityCar Cup successes – he is up eight places to 12th.
Down at Brands Hatch, the British Touring Car Championship and its support series wound to a close for 2026. Josh Rogers has been unstoppable since he found the winning habit in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, and the Australian’s hat-trick in Kent has given him a massive rise of 29 positions to 16th.
Another three-time winner was Ryan McLeish, in his case in the Scottish Legends series at Knockhill, and he has bursted into the top 50 at 22nd.
The other upwards mover in the upper half of the top 50 was, like Grant, competing in his HSCC Silverstone National event. Ben Glasswell’s Historic FF2000 double with his Reynard SF77 moves him up 20 places to 24th.

All car races in UK and Ireland are included except qualification/repechage, consolation and handicap races. No races in other countries.
Class wins are only counted when there are at least six starters in the class, except: when the race is part of a multi-stage event where six or more have taken part in earlier heats that feed into a semi-final or final; when multiple championships are merged in the same race, the ‘overall’ winner from the slower championship can count a class win as long as that championship has at least 10 starters across all classes.
Only classes divided by car characteristics are included, not those divided by driver characteristics such as ability, professional status, age, experience (for example rookie or pro-am classes).
Each race counts only once, so an overall winner’s class win is not added. Where there is a tie, overall wins take precedence. Where there is still a tie, average grid size for a driver’s wins determines the order.
