Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The O! Mega-Fest Mintay! festival, dedicated to promoting fish products and pollock dishes, was held on Taras Shevchenko Gastronomic Street in Tashkent. The event was organised with the support of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The festival programme included live music performances, entertainment, interactive activities for children, quizzes and master classes.
Visitors had the opportunity to sample a variety of pollock dishes, learn about their preparation and explore the diversity of fish cuisine.
One of the event’s main objectives was to increase interest in fish products and raise awareness of their role in everyday diets.
Uzbekistan is focusing on developing aquaculture, increasing fish production, introducing modern technologies and ensuring the supply of high-quality products to the population. Promoting fish consumption and expanding demand for the industry’s products also remain important priorities.
Fish farming plays a role not only in meeting the population’s food needs but also in creating jobs, developing entrepreneurship and strengthening the economic potential of the regions.
Promoting fish dishes is seen as one way to encourage consumers to take greater interest in the industry’s products.
