We have a trade.
Marking the first trade in TGL history, Boston Common Golf announced Monday that it had acquired Shane Lowry from The Bay Golf Club in exchange for Boston’s fourth-overall pick in the league’s upcoming draft, an additional pick over the next three seasons and commercial considerations.
Lowry joins Rory McIlroy on Boston’s roster, which last year also included Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama. It’s unclear if those three players will return for the Ballfrogs, though with rosters expanding to five players, all three could still remain with the franchise.
Boston begins its new season on Jan. 2 against Los Angeles.
The TGL’s third season will feature a new franchise, Motor City Golf Club, which has already announced Brooks Koepka and Jackson Koivun as founding members.
