Transport Minister Anthony Loke confirmed that the suspension of MYEG as a JPJ collection agent has not disrupted road tax renewals or other public services.
KUALA LUMPUR: The suspension of MYEG’s services as a collection agent for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has not disrupted road tax renewals or other services, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said there had been no major issues over the past two weeks, with motorists still able to renew their road tax through various JPJ channels, including the MyJPJ application.
“There have been no problems over the past two weeks. The public can continue to renew their road tax and access other services as usual, as many users have switched to the MyJPJ application,” he told reporters after the launch of the Masjid Jamek LRT Station Beautification Project here today.
Loke added that the payment of traffic fines and other services remained available through the relevant local authorities.
He also confirmed that Zetrix AI Bhd, a company under the MYEG Group, had yet to make any payment towards the RM314 million in outstanding government revenue collections.
The suspension of services provided by My E.G. Services Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd under the MYEG Group as JPJ collection agents took effect on Oct 5.
JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli previously said the decision was made after a review of the companies’ compliance with the terms and conditions of their agreements, including outstanding obligations that had yet to be fulfilled or settled.
However, JPJ assured the public that its services would continue as usual through official and alternative channels.
Road tax renewals can be carried out at JPJ counters, via the MyJPJ application and JPJ Public Portal, at JPJ kiosks and mobile counters, as well as at Pos Malaysia branches.
Puspakom also provides road tax renewal services for eligible commercial vehicles.
