A Moroccan C-130 cargo aircraft, carrying military vehicles and supplies, landed on Monday at Liberia’s Roberts International Airport, according to local press reports.
This first shipment of the Moroccan military equipment is destined for the training of the special forces of the Liberian Army. A second plane laden with more Moroccan military equipment is expected to arrive in the few coming days in this West Africa country.
The delivery of Moroccan military assistance is part of the two countries defense cooperation and strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) logistical capabilities, technical expertise, professional development, and operational readiness.
According to Liberian press reports, plans are underway to transport approximately 140 rigorously screened AFL personnel to Morocco for specialized commando training. The move is expected to sharpen tactical skills, strengthen discipline, and the combat preparedness of Liberian soldiers.
Last October, Morocco and Liberia signed a military cooperation agreement setting a comprehensive framework for joint training, technical assistance, military healthcare, and strategic exchanges.
The Moroccan military assistance provided to Liberia opens avenues for future collaboration in defense logistics, leadership training, and medical infrastructure.
