A mother allegedly stabbed her husband and toddler son to death before attempting to kill herself at a popular resort in northeastern Pennsylvania on Monday.
The horrific incident happened inside a hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pocono Township, with authorities rushing to the scene after a woman called 911 at around 3 p.m. asking for help killing herself, WNEP reported.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, had allegedly fatally stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son, identified in court filings by his initials, T.H., according to the criminal complaint obtained by the news outlet.
The woman reportedly slashed her wrists, but called 911 seeking advice on how to find the vein in her neck to stab.
She reportedly told the 911 operator that her husband and son were “already gone.”
Bodies found on mattresses
Cops arriving at the hotel discovered a grisly scene, finding two bodies lying on mattresses, police said in an affidavit.

Harrison had allegedly stabbed her husband and son in the chest.
Police said two knives were found in the room, both with teal green handles, which Great Wolf Lodge told police did not belong to the resort.
Cops also found containers with what appeared to be blood inside of them and several bottles of medication.
On Tuesday, Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso called the incident a “violent domestic tragedy,” adding that there was no threat to public safety.
‘It wasn’t supposed to end like this’
Police said Harrison would not talk to cops following her arrest, telling investigators that she was “suicidal, not stupid.”
But before her arrest, she apparently wasn’t so tight-lipped, allegedly going on a rant while paramedics took her to the hospital.
“Every day I work so hard,” Harrison told them, according to a police affidavit. “To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife. It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child.”
She allegedly asked medics how deep her vein was so she would know “next time.”

Authorities said the family had been staying at the resort for several weeks, checking in on Sept. 21 and extending their stay on Oct. 5.
In a statement to WNEP, Great Wolf Lodge spokesperson Jason Lasecki said the company was “deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident,” adding that it was cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected,” it said.
Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
Court records show she was denied bail and ordered held in Monroe County Prison, with her preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 21.
