Things continue to go from bad to worse for the Washington Commanders.
Head coach Dan Quinn said on Tuesday that Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin suffered a season-ending torn patellar tendon during the team's Week 6 "Monday Night Football" loss versus the San Francisco 49ers.
McLaurin was carted off the field in the first quarter of Monday's defeat and was quickly ruled out for the rest of the contest.
Washington has already seen starting quarterback Jayden Daniels miss two games this season due to dislocated left elbow and Monday's news could also have a severely negative impact on the Commanders offense.
"Scary Terry" has been Daniels' favorite target since the latter entered the NFL in 2024.

McLaurin led Washington in targets, receptions and receiving yards in each of his first six seasons before missing seven contests last year due to a quad injury.
The Ohio State product earned his first Pro Bowl nod during the 2022 campaign after posting a career-high 1,191 receiving yards and helped the Commanders go on a surprise run to the NFC Championship Game in 2024, making his second Pro Bowl that season.
McLaurin ranked second in the NFL with his career-high 13 receiving touchdowns two seasons ago and added three more scores in the playoffs.
He registered a team-high 230 receiving yards through the first six games this fall despite Monday's early exit and missing Week 4 with a hamstring injury.
