File: Super Eagles and Udinese Goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye
Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move for Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, with Udinese valuing the 26-year-old at €20m, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to Italian media reports, Inter are assessing their goalkeeping options and have identified the Udinese shot-stopper as a potential target.
Okoye has established himself in Serie A since joining Udinese, with his performances attracting interest from one of Italy’s biggest clubs. A move to Inter would represent a significant step in the Super Eagles goalkeeper’s career.
However, Udinese’s reported asking price could complicate any potential deal as Inter weigh up whether to pursue their interest. No formal offer has been reported, and it remains unclear whether the Milan club are prepared to meet the valuation.
The transfer speculation comes after Okoye endured a difficult outing in Udinese’s 2-1 defeat to Torino on Monday, their fourth consecutive loss in Serie A.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was involved in the decisive moment in the 67th minute when he collided with teammate Nicolo Bertola while attempting to clear the ball, allowing Torino substitute Sandro Kulenovic to score into an unguarded net.
Despite the costly error, Inter’s reported interest places Okoye among the goalkeeping options being considered by the Italian giants. Whether that interest develops into a formal bid remains to be seen, with Udinese’s valuation likely to be a key factor in any negotiations.
