The Department of Meteorology has issued an amber advisory for Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Badulla District, warning of heavy rainfall exceeding 150 mm in some areas.
Showers or thundershowers are expected across most parts of Sri Lanka.
The advisory is valid from 7 p.m. on October 17 until 6 a.m. on October 18.
