The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team fell short of its goal for the 2026 season. The '26 Orange, led by one of the great players in school history Joey Spallina, lost in the national semifinals to Notre Dame 15-7.
The 2027 Orange are hoping to win the school's first national championship since 2009, thus ending the current longest between titles in school history.

What are the regular season games being added to the schedule?
According to reporter Brent Axe, the Orange will play Princeton and Cornell in non-league games this March.
Syracuse will take on the defending national champion Princeton Tigers on March 5 at 5 p.m. ET.
The Orange return two days later to take on a fellow Empire State school, the Cornell Big Red, with face off set for March 7 at 1 p.m. ET.
Not only are both games scheduled to played on the ACC Network, but both games are also set to take place in Dallas, Texas.
Why are these games being played in Dallas?
The event is called the Lonestar Lacrosse Classic, a four-team event featuring the three schools mentioned above along with the ACC's North Carolina Tar Heels.
In 2027, the ACC has just five schools competing in men's lacrosse. That includes Syracuse and North Carolina, along with Duke,Notre Dame and Virginia.
Starting in 2028, the SMU Mustangs men's lacrosse program will be added to the ACC.
The event is serving not just as a national event featuring top programs, but also the location gives fans in Dallas a chance to learn and enjoy the sport of lacrosse. The likely hope is that the event will create fans who enjoy the action as they approach the launch of the Mustangs program in the spring of '28.
What's the rest of the regular season look like?
The dates and times of the other regular season match ups have yet to confirmed. It it likely the 2027 regular season schedule will follow a similar format to the 2026 schedule. The Orange opened the 2026 schedule on Feb. 1, and then played 10 straight non-conference games before begin ACC play in late March.
What has the fall ball schedule action looked like this month?
Before the Orange's regular season starts in 2027, Syracuse has played two "fall ball" games, with one still left to take place. "Fall Ball" games are exhibition games played in October rather than the typical exhibition games that take place closer to the regular season.
The Orange renewed their rivalry with Hobart College on Oct. 2. The Statesmen and Orange played against one another in every regular season from 1919-2014. Syracuse had won 37 of the past 40 games.
Syracuse then played on Binghamton on Oct. 9. Syracuse, Binghamton, and Hobart did not report stats or a final score to their official website.
The final fall ball game is on the road against Rutgers on Saturday.
