I don’t need to tell you that people love romance; the endless array of romance novel-to-screen adaptations and the fact that romance is the highest-grossing fiction genre right now, according to Writers Digest, are proof. And for good reason: a good love story can keep you up at night, make you desperate to find someone (anyone!) with whom to share your obsession, and even give you a blueprint for how to love.
That’s why I am so excited to share that we’re bringing original romance fiction to Teen Vogue! Introducing I Saw the Signs, a new fiction partnership from Teen Vogue and Wattpad Books featuring original short stories from authors Tay Marley, Ariana Godoy, E.M. Wilson, and Anna Todd.
There’s a little something for every romance lover in these stories: bronco riding champions, bookstore meet-cutes, tension-filled football games. And while each story is unique, each loosely explores compatibility and connection through astrology.
I can’t wait for you to meet Leo & Gemma, Kathy & Raven, and Tor & Aries. Read on for more details on the what, when, and where of I Saw the Signs.
Everything you need to know:
When does I Saw the Signs come out?
The first short story in Teen Vogue's Wattpad Books partnership, Tay Marley's Under the Northern Stars, begins rolling out on October 19 with daily chapter drops. After that story's serial run is completed, new stories will appear through Spring 2027. Get ready to fall in love with your new favorite 'ships.
What kind of short fiction can I expect? What are these stories about?
This one's for the romance readers! The stories in this first collection blend romance with themes of astrology, fate, and destiny (with plenty of your favorite romantic tropes sprinkled in).

Under the Northern Stars by Tay Marley (October 19, 2026)
Leo and Gemma share a fence line, but that’s the only thing the two have in common. He’s an up-and-coming bronc riding champion. She’s an aspiring scientist obsessed with stars and space. With senior year behind them, Gemma believes ignoring Leo’s constant teasing will finally be easier, except for one teeny detail–her dad is his coach. When an unexpected accident turns her life upside down, no one is more surprised than Gemma when Leo steps in to help. As the pair shares a summer filled with stargazing, drawing, and fun, they move beyond the assumptions they’ve carried for years. But with Gemma leaving Montana for college, their budding romance might be over before it even begins.

Read To Me by Ariana Godoy (February ‘27)
Kathy has just finished high school and begins her first day at her last summer job ever at the bookstore in town before leaving for college. She can’t wait to venture out in the world and find that crazy first love she’s been dreaming about. But then, her new coworker strolls through the door: Raven Allard. She’s enigmatic, tattooed and has an attitude problem. Their banter and sarcastic remarks become a daily thing and makes Kathy wonder if she can actually survive working with Raven and not fall for her charms. And to top it all, their zodiac signs are super compatible…

Star-Crossed Rivals by Anna Todd & E.M. Wilson (Spring ‘27)
Tor Jacobs has it all–he’s the most talented quarterback in the state, set to receive a full ride to any college he wants on a football scholarship. He’s the king of the school; practically king of their Florida town. That is until Aries Smith transfers, putting Tor's college draft at risk. Aries is as elite in class as he is on the field, but provides an unexpected twist to the masculine, football jock-archetype people expect. Does Aries have everything Tor wants? Or does Tor just want Aries?
