Coach Mike Vrabel’s New England Patriots won a 26-19 game over the New York Jets in Week 6 play that caused star wideout AJ Brown to comment on his below-par performance. Brown missed four games due to an ankle injury on a day when TreVeyon Henderson made his return and the Patriots receiver commented on his status for the upcoming Bears game.
Mark Daniels of MassLive shared the news.
“AJ Brown said he’s ‘absolutely’ good to go for Thursday night in Chicago.”

Thursday night’s Week 7 game will pit Vrabel’s 2025-26 Super Bowl participants against Ben Johnson’s surging Bears. Both teams are 4-2 this season despite injuries to key players like Brown and Caleb Williams of the Bears.
New England quarterback Draye Maye perfectly crystallized what Brown’s return means to his team by using an NBA star analogy. Brown helps to draw double teams and opens up the field for the run game, which feasted against the Jets as three running backs plus Drake Maye got involved.
The Jets had a surprisingly good game on offense behind Geno Smith, Braelon Allen and Omar Cooper Jr., showing chinks in Buffalo’s armor heading into the Bears showdown. On paper, the game should be a shootout, but as Maye’s comments illustrated, football is a complex game.
Brown is back and healthy at just the right time heading into the potential Week 7 Super Bowl preview in Chicago. The Maye to Brown connection has as much potential as any in the NFL, now it’s time for the duo to work out the kinks in preparation for what should be an exciting Thursday Night Football game.
