Eagles WR Generating Serious Trade Buzz After Jalen Hurts Injury News

Jalen Hurts' 2026 season is officially over after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs.

The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed on Monday that the quarterback had been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli after initially experiencing a blood clot in his left calf.

Hurts is now expected to miss the rest of the NFL season as he undergoes treatment with blood thinners. The Eagles said he is clinically stable, expect him to make a full recovery, and don't anticipate any long-term effects. But he can't participate in contact football while receiving treatment.

The timing couldn't be worse for Philly. The Eagles head into Week 7 at 2-4 and have now lost four straight, with the pressure now on Tanner McKee to keep their season alive. But with their franchise quarterback out for the year, there's been recent speculation that the Eagles could start to blow things up.

On Wednesday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that veteran wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown could be one of the players moved before the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 10. Schultz reported that teams looking for depth at the position believe he could be traded in the coming weeks.

Brown signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in March, but he's barely seen the field since. He's appeared in just one game so far this season, recording two carries for 12 yards against the Titans in Week 2. An ankle injury sidelined him for three games, and he was a healthy scratch against Carolina last week. For a team that's struggled without A.J. Brown and has had to rely on younger, largely unproven receivers all season, it's odd that Brown hasn't been able to carve out some sort of role on the offense.

Still, the 28-year-old wideout has a proven track record of success in the NFL. A first-round pick by the Ravens in 2019, Brown recorded 1,008 receiving yards in 2021, before spending two seasons in Arizona and the last two years in Kansas City. Last season with the Chiefs, he hauled in 587 yards and five touchdowns on 49 catches

A trade would make sense for both sides. It would give Brown a fresh start with a team that could actually use him, and allow Philadelphia to recoup something for a receiver who doesn't appear to be part of their immediate plans. Potential fits could include a reunion with the Chiefs, who could use more depth at receiver right now, or other playoff contenders like the Steelers, 49ers, and Rams, who have all dealt with injuries at the position.
