Sooho.io, a digital asset financial infrastructure company, has won the Grand Prix, the top honor at the global finance and fintech event Money20/20, becoming the first Korean company to do so.
Sooho.io said on the 19th that it received the Grand Prix in the partnership and strategic collaboration category at The Money Awards, the official awards ceremony of Money20/20 USA 2026, held in Las Vegas on the 18th. The category recognizes collaborations that combine technology, expertise and resources across different organizations to deliver results for the industry.
Money20/20 brings together banks, card companies and Big Tech firms to discuss financial technology and business models. It is also known as the CES of fintech. Sooho.io said the award recognized its ability to implement complex financial transaction terms through smart contracts and apply them to the actual operations of financial institutions.
Sooho.io has conducted pilot projects applying blockchain to cross-border remittances and foreign exchange trading with domestic financial firms. With Industrial Bank of Korea, it confirmed the technical feasibility of converting won into U.S. dollars for remittance through a blockchain-based proof of concept using its Sooho Partner Hub platform. It also carried out technical verification with KB Financial Group on exchanges between won-denominated stablecoins and dollar assets, real-time settlement and the automatic execution of transaction terms.
The company is also pursuing links to global settlement networks. In August, it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with global settlement network Partior to build cross-border payment and settlement infrastructure. Based on that agreement, it plans to connect won-based services offered by Korean financial institutions to settlement networks for the dollar, the euro and the Singapore dollar.
Sooho.io plans to use Partner Hub to help financial institutions and companies incorporate cross-border remittance, foreign exchange and settlement functions into their own services. Partner Hub is a platform that coordinates payment terms, exchange rates, liquidity and settlement networks according to client requirements. The company is upgrading the platform so that it can compare multiple exchange rates and liquidity conditions to construct suitable transaction routes.
"Going forward, we will use Partner Hub to connect the won with global foreign currency payment and settlement networks, helping financial institutions and companies focus on the services they provide to customers rather than on building their own infrastructure," said Park Ji-soo, chief executive of Sooho.io.
