SHAH ALAM: With the "glam squad" fully booked ahead of the Anugerah Melodi Terhangat (AMT) 2026, actor Fattah Amin turned to his wife, Amira Othman, to do his makeup for the event last night.
Joking about the situation, Fattah mentioned that he usually relies on professionals to manage his makeup, hair, and wardrobe whenever he attends official events.
But he explained that he was unable to secure a makeup artist at the last minute, as most were already booked by other celebrities.
"Just so everyone knows, I couldn't book a makeup artist today. Everyone was busy and already working with other artistes.
"So, my makeup artist today is actually Amira Othman. She did a great job, right? Thank you! Feel free to reach out to her if any other artistes need her services," he quipped while speaking to the press at the AMT 2026 media conference held at the Selangor International Trade Centre (SITC) last night.
Fattah repeated his success from last year by taking home the Hottest Masculine Celebrity trophy once again.
The actor admitted he did not expect to win, as he had attended the event solely to present an award.
"Honestly, we came here expecting only to present an award. We knew I was nominated, but I didn't expect to win—that's why I was so surprised earlier.
"I feel there are many others who are more 'masculine' than I am. I don't necessarily feel I deserve it, but this is a blessing—a blessing for my child, too. Thank God, the fans voted for me for the second year in a row," he said.
Commenting on personal grooming and image, Fattah said that a celebrity must always make sure they look presentable and dressed appropriately for the occasion.
He noted that careful attention must be paid to attire, hairstyle, and makeup, as a public figure's appearance is always under the spotlight.
"As a celebrity, we always pay close attention to our appearance—from head to toe—because we know that whenever we step out, many eyes are upon us.
"Therefore, the outfits we choose must always look neat and be suitable for the occasion. One must be careful not to get the dress code wrong when attending an event.
"I make it a point to always look after my appearance—my hair, my face, and so on. But there are times when, during filming, I am bound by the requirements of a specific character.
"If you've noticed, my hair is long right now because of a character I'm playing in a production currently being aired. Once that role concludes, I'll tidy up my hair again," he said.
Fattah also advised new actors to hire a professional 'glam team' to help manage their look, especially when attending official events.
He highlighted that having makeup artists and fashion stylists not only makes preparation much easier, but also ensures a celebrity's look fits the occasion.
"My advice to new artistes is that it is truly necessary to hire a 'glam team,' because cameras are everywhere.
"Having a stylist makes everything much easier; they consider what is appropriate and provide us with options. It certainly makes our job a lot simpler," he said.
