Phil Foden scored a sublime hat-trick as Manchester City returned to winning ways in the Champions League group phase with a dominant victory over Greek side AEK Athens.
City needed a response after being beaten 4-2 at home by holders Paris St-Germain last week and reacted in perfect manner.
BBC reports that Pep Guardiola’s side had Foden in fine form, with the England international scoring three times and providing an assist in a superb all-round display.

Elliot Anderson reacted quickest to poke City ahead after Enzo Fernandez clipped a free-kick against the crossbar, before Foden doubled the lead with a thumping finish into the roof of the net from Rico Lewis’ pass.
AEK Athens, who had failed to threaten in the opening period, pulled one back seven minutes after the restart when full-back Stavros Pilios drilled in a composed finish with his side’s first shot on target.
But City restored control, with Foden setting up Rayan Cherki to stroke home before striking a glorious first-time effort into the top corner and completing his treble from close range 11 minutes later.
The victory gets City back on track in Europe ahead of their Premier League trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.
