PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will chair a special meeting on Monday to discuss several issues, including the haze currently affecting the country.
Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting on National Disaster Management would, among others, focus on the need for better coordination among ministries to address the haze impact.
He said this included outdoor sporting activities and school operations and other educational institutions.
"The Education Ministry and Health Ministry had informed the cabinet that existing guidelines to address the haze were based on the National Haze Action Plan, which was currently in force.
"The prime minister will chair a meeting on Monday, and the haze issue will be among the matters discussed.
"Further information will be provided after Monday's meeting, including by the Health Ministry, Education Ministry and Youth and Sports Ministry," he said at his weekly post-cabinet press conference here today.
