AC Milan are considering a summer move for Manchester United defender Leny Yoro, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian giants see the Frenchman as a potential solution to their defensive problems ahead of next season.
Milan have identified the 20-year-old as a key target, and a deal is expected to cost between €40 million and €50 million.
The Rossoneri also hope Yoro’s representative, Jorge Mendes, who represents Goncalo Ramos and manager Ruben Amorim, can help facilitate negotiations with Man United.
Milan want to add more depth to their defensive options. Besides their starting back three of Strahinja Pavlovic, Koni de Winter, and Mario Gila, they are short.
Gabbia is injured, and Amorim clearly isn’t a fan of Fikayo Tomori, whom he has used sparingly.
Several other defenders are also on Milan’s radar, including Nottingham Forest’s Ousmane Diomande and Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae, but they are January options.
Diomande remains high on their shortlist, while Kim is another attractive option.
However, the South Korean’s salary demands could complicate any deal, and Bayern Munich are also reluctant to sanction an early January departure.
Milan have also explored signing Daniele Ghilardi from Roma, while Mendes is trying to facilitate a loan move for Lecce defender Thiago Gabriel.
Yoro’s situation at Old Trafford could prove crucial to Milan’s pursuit.
There is currently no indication that Man United are prepared to part ways with the young defender, but they are set for a defensive overhaul.
The Frenchman arrived from Lille in 2024 after establishing himself as one of Europe’s most promising defensive prospects.
United beat competition from several leading clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, to secure his signature.
However, he has struggled to stand out for the Red Devils because of their structural issues on and off the field.
Still, he remains a talented prospect. His physical profile is perfect, but he may need a more stable environment to shine.
Milan will believe they can offer that, but their situation in Italy may be just as turbulent and worrying as Man United’s.
