Tura, Oct 14: Tura will celebrate World Food Day with the Tura Food Fest on October 16, bringing together indigenous cuisine, farm-fresh produce, local art and cultural performances.
Organised by Minutiae in collaboration with The Night Fair, the festival will begin at noon at Sierra Motors Garage, opposite Sora Complex in Dakopgre, under the theme “Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow.”
The event aims to showcase indigenous food and beverages, local agricultural produce and a mix of regional and global cuisines. It will also provide a platform for local producers, culinary artists and entrepreneurs, while promoting agro-tourism and community engagement.
Highlights include farm-to-table produce, artisanal food stalls, local beverages and live musical performances by local artists. A grand Tambola session will begin at 6 pm, followed by the announcement of results for the 7 United Photography Challenge.
The festival is being spearheaded by The Night Fair organisers Imtila Jamir and Joey Felix Cheran, along with Moreno of Minutiae. The initiative aims to promote local talent, support small businesses and strengthen community-driven tourism.
The event is open to the public and invites residents and visitors to explore the region’s food culture while supporting local farmers and entrepreneurs.
