Citing security concerns and ongoing festive season demands, Delhi Police on Thursday denied permission for Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming concert, scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
While authorities officially withheld clearance due to security considerations, specific details regarding the rationale behind the denial were not immediately disclosed.
The Delhi show was slated to launch the Indian leg of Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura World Tour, which was subsequently set to travel to six other cities: Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Chandigarh.
As part of his expansive global trek, the singer has already delivered high-energy performances across multiple countries in North America, Europe, and Australia.
He had previously hinted at a concert in Kolkata, although no date has been confirmed yet.
On the work front, Diljit was last seen in Satluj. He released his 15th studio album, Aura, worldwide on October 15 last year. The 10-track album has a runtime of 29 minutes and 26 seconds and features songs such as Senorita, Charmer and Balle Balle.
