Students seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programs in Punjab must pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and secure at least 60 percent marks in FSc, according to the admission policy issued for the 2026-27 academic session.
According to media reports, the policy applies to public and private medical and dental colleges across the province. The University of Health Sciences (UHS) will conduct all centralized admissions.
Merit will be determined on a fixed formula. MDCAT will carry 50 percent weightage, FSc 40 percent and Matric 10 percent. On eligibility, applicants must have studied Biology and Chemistry, along with a pass in either Physics or Mathematics.
Candidates applying to public medical colleges must list all colleges in their order of preference. No limit has been set on the number of preferences for private medical colleges.
Selected candidates must deposit their fees within three working days after the release of merit list. The annual tuition fee for open merit seats at public medical and dental colleges has been fixed at Rs50,000.
