Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer is under scrutiny like never before.
His team is 2-4 in a season they came in openly talking about reaching the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995.
He 9-13-1 as a head coach a little of year into his tenure as the 10th coach in franchise history and there are now questions about whether he has lost the pulse of his team, let along a formerly high-powered offence which has scored just 29 points in two consecutive losses.
Ownership has given him a vote of confidence.

“Absolutely. There’s not any question in Jerry or I’s mind. He has the team. There’s no question they want to go out there and execute.” https://t.co/ij4ml0Km5B
But the fury of a two-game losing streak heading into Monday’s battle against the Philadelphia Eagles will only get louder if the Cowboys don’t come away with victory.
Schottenheimer admits he is angry and pissed off. The only way he knows how to fix what ails the Cowboys is to go back to work.
“Am I frustrated and pissed off? You’re damn right I am,” Schottenheimer said. ‘”But I’m gonna roll my sleeves up and I’m gonna go to work. And I’m gonna solve it.”
As the son of legendary head coach Marty Schottenheimer, he is says he is understands the criticism and is built for it.

“I think it comes with the territory. I think some of it is deserved. We got to play better. I got to coach better. When you grow up in a family that your dad is a head coach for over 20 years, you understand that this is part of the job description.
Schottenheimer remains encouraged because he continues to believe in his team, led by quarterback Dak Prescott.
“No one likes it. I block out most of it. Some of it gets to me. Doing this job and having to speak to you guys is part of that. But at the same time, I’ve got strong shoulders. I know what a great coach I am. I know what this team is capable of. That’s what I focus on.”
