More than half of the NFL teams either own a .500 winning percentage or are within one game either way of it.
The 10 teams with 3-2 records include subsets of the disappointed (Broncos, Patriots, Seahawks, etc.) and the thrilled (Raiders, Browns).
Then there are six teams with 2-3 records, marked by the disappointing starts of three Super Bowl hopefuls out of the NFC (Rams, Eagles and Cowboys). And then there is the Panthers, coming off a bye after splitting their first four games.
In other words, the league is shaping up early this season exactly as late Giants patriarch Wellington Mara — the biggest proponent of parity in the early era of television contracts — envisioned it.
Everyone has a chance to catch the few favorites except for the handful of teams that can’t get out of their own way on the way to tanking.
Here are The Post’s NFL power rankings for Week 6:
1. 49ers 5-0 (1)
Brock Purdy guided two fourth-quarter scoring drives and Eddy Pineiro converted the tie-breaking 43-yard field goal with less two minutes to play in a 32-29 win against the Seahawks. The game featured an NFL season-high seven combined turnovers. Brandin Cooks scored his first touchdown with the 49ers. Gracen Halton scored a defensive touchdown late in the first half.
2. Chiefs 4-0 (2)
An early bye allowed newlyweds Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to sneak in a New York City date night. Patrick Mahomes has thrown nine touchdowns and just two interceptions, with a complement from Kenneth Walker III’s 537 rushing yards (on pace for the NFL single-season record) and 43 broken tackles, per Pro Football Focus.
3. Vikings 5-0 (3)
Justin Jefferson fought through injury to play in his hometown of New Orleans and delivered six catches and a touchdown in a 23-13 victory against the Saints. Aaron Jones atoned for a fumble with a fourth-quarter touchdown. Brian Flores’ blitz-happy defense forced three takeaways and allowed only 142 yards. Will Reichard kicked three field goals.
4. Bills 4-1 (4)
Greg Rousseau blocked a field goal in overtime and Tyler Bass converted his walk-off kick at the other end in a 37-34 victory against the Rams. Josh Allen accounted for 331 yards and two touchdowns, but James Cook (121 rushing yards and two touchdowns) really fueled the offense – at least until his overtime fumble. The Bills are 4-1 for the sixth time in eight seasons.
5. Jaguars 4-1 (9)
After falling behind with eight seconds remaining, Ameer Abdullah returned a kickoff 53 yards to set up Cam Little’s 57-yard walk-off field goal – out of backup long snapper Davon Hamilton’s hands – in a 19-17 win against the Eagles in London. Trevor Lawrence threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns to Parker Washington. The Jaguars allowed only 22 rushing yards.
6. Ravens 4-1 (7)
Kyle Hamilton capped his Atlanta homecoming with an interception to end overtime in a 30-23 comeback win against the Falcons. Filling in for Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley engineered touchdown drives at the end of regulation and the start of overtime. Huntley threw two touchdown passes and scored the game-winner with his legs. Derrick Henry caught a touchdown and ran for a two-point conversion.
7. Seahawks 3-2 (6)
Jaxson Smith-Njigba, who had 102 receiving yards, dropped a third-down pass to get into range for the tying field goal, and Cooper Kupp was stopped one yard short on fourth down in the loss to the 49ers. Sam Darnold threw two interceptions and George Holani fumbled twice (one lost). The Seahawks blew a 26-21 fourth-quarter lead.
8. Rams 2-3 (8)
Harrison Mevis missed two field goals, including one that would’ve beaten the Bills in overtime. Matthew Stafford passed for 383 yards and three touchdowns. Kyren Williams scored with five seconds left in regulation, but head coach Sean McVay elected to play for overtime rather than go for a two-point conversion and the win.
9. Broncos 3-2 (11)
With head coach Sean Payton calling plays for the first time this season, the Broncos scored 13 unanswered fourth-quarter points in a 23-17 win against the Chargers. Courtland Sutton caught the game-tying touchdown and Will Lutz kicked two field goals in the final 5:07. The comeback was fueled by the defense’s fourth-and-1 stop of a Justin Herbert quarterback sneak.
10. Bengals 3-2 (12)
Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes, including a one-handed catch by Ja’Marr Chase, and Jordan Battle notched a pair of interceptions on back-to-back possessions in a 31-24 victory against the Dolphins. Tight ends Mike Gesicki and Tanner Hudson each caught a touchdown. The Bengals’ 18-point lead was whittled to seven with 45 seconds left.
11. Bears 3-2 (5)
12. Patriots 3-2 (16)
13. Giants 3-1-1 (13)
Jameis Winston led a 14-point fourth-quarter comeback, throwing 22 completions on 33 targets and three touchdowns to the combination of Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers. But the Giants had to settle for a 27-27 tie against the Commanders and their egregious clock management after Dominic Zvada’s third missed field goal and Cam Skattebo’s lost fumble in overtime.
14. Raiders 3-2 (10)
15. Lions 3-2 (20)
16. Steelers 3-2 (21)
17. Packers 3-2 (23)
18. Eagles 2-3 (14)
19. Panthers 2-2 (19)
20. Browns 3-2 (15)
21. Colts 2-3 (17)
22. Falcons 2-3 (22)
23. Cowboys 2-3 (18)
24. Jets 2-3 (28)
Braelon Allen rushed for the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter as part of a 116-yard game to capitalize on recovering a botched punt snap in a 17-12 victory against the Browns. The Jets sacked Deshaun Watson eight times, including three by rookie David Bailey and a strip-sack by Will McDonald to clinch the first home win.
