President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing himself as the party’s “errand man” and pledging to remain committed to its manifesto ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tinubu made the remarks on Wednesday during the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Addressing party leaders and members of the council, the President said he was ready to continue working towards the party’s objectives and honouring the commitments it had made to Nigerians.
“I am your errand man,” Tinubu said, reaffirming his commitment to the APC and its political agenda.
The President commended party members for conducting congresses across the ward, local government, state and national levels, despite predictions that internal disagreements could lead to a crisis within the party.
He also referenced the APC’s 15th National Executive Committee meeting held on December 19, 2025, which approved the timetable for the party’s congresses.
Tinubu charged members of the campaign council to take the party’s message to Nigerians and work towards securing victory across the country in 2027.
Emphasising the need for measurable results, he warned that members should not expect recognition before completing their assigned responsibilities.
“No one gets credit for an incomplete assignment,” the President said, urging the campaign team to focus on delivering votes for the APC.
He further indicated that appreciation for the party’s efforts would come after members had demonstrated their commitment through electoral performance.
Tinubu also told the council that political campaigning must not come at the expense of governance, stressing that his administration would continue its responsibilities while preparations for the election gathered momentum.
The President said he planned to speak directly to Nigerians during the campaign but acknowledged that he would not be able to attend every campaign stop at the local level.
Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election under the APC and is seeking a second term in 2027. The inauguration of the campaign council signals the party’s preparations for the next general election.
