A fire broke out at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Sunday after an unidentified projectile struck the airport’s terminal 4 for passengers.
Authorities were responding to the scene, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen reported.
The Kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation later said the attack resulted in injuries and that damage assessment and safety checks of airport facilities were underway.
The coalition also said that air defenses intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile in the vicinity of the airport.
Later on, the aviation authority said Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport in the Eastern Province was attacked on Sunday afternoon.
Damage assessments and safety inspections of airport facilities are underway, GACA said.
The attacks come a day after a missile attack killed 13 people and wounded more than 300 on Saturday.
The Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia said on Sunday that an Indian national injured in Saturday’s attack at Riyadh international airport had died.
“We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains,” the embassy said in a post on X.
The Indian national’s death adds to the death toll from the attack on Saturday, which killed 12 people according to initial reports.
