SEREMBAN: Police have received nine reports over suspicious packages found at several schools in Nilai and Tampin.
Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the packages had been left or delivered to several schools in the two districts.
"Five reports were received in Nilai and another four in Tampin.
"Preliminary investigations found similarities in the appearance and contents of the packages.
"The packages had reportedly been left on school premises for some time before the schools lodged police reports, after the named recipients failed to collect them," he said in a statement today.
Alzafny said police sought assistance from the bomb disposal unit to examine the packages.
No explosives or hazardous materials were found during the inspection.
"Further examination found that the packages contained wheat flour and plastic plates.
"Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for sending or leaving the packages and determine the actual motive behind the incidents," he said.
He advised school administrators and the public not to touch, open or move suspicious packages whose owners or origins were unknown.
Any such discovery should be reported to the police immediately for further safety measures, he said.
