The Czech Foreign Ministry has advised Czech citizens visiting France to avoid demonstrations and large gatherings amid a wave of street violence in several big cities.
Hundreds of thousands of people protested against the rising cost of living at the weekend with demonstrations escalated into violence, looting and attacks on public buildings. Police arrested around 2,400 people, while about 1,000 officers were injured.
A nationwide general strike is also planned for November 5, with disruption expected across transport, healthcare, education and other public and private services, the ministry says.
It urges travellers, particularly those visiting major cities, to monitor updates from transport operators, plan for possible disruption and follow instructions from local authorities and security forces.
