There’s rude. Then there’s free-range rude.
Allegedly, Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders for the latter.
Following an argument in the first half, it appeared like Gardner-Johnson spit in the direction of a handful of Raiders offensive linemen, one of which was center Tyler Linderbaum. He was disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Gardner-Johnson has been on the radar in a bad way with the media and the league lately, mainly after being penalized for unnecessary roughness in Week 5 when the Bills played the Los Angeles Rams. And then for calling New England Patriots receiver Efton Chism III a “practice squad player” following his winning touchdown against the Bills.
The crew on NFL on CBS also took to the halftime show to call out Gardner-Johnson and went all Seinfeld on the player by showing the spit being tossed in slow motion.
“C.J. Gardner-Johnson, what are you doing??”
The crew called out the move as selfish, childish, immature, and unprofessional.
More disciplinary action could be taken against the 28-year-old veteran upon further review, Bleacher Report says. During his professional tenure, he’s played for seven different teams, including the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Detroit Lions . He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Bills went on to beat the Raiders without their defensive starter, 33-30, moving them to 5-1.
