The FOG Design+Art fair has announced seventy-six exhibitors for its 2027 edition, which runs January 21–24 at the Fort Mason Center for the Arts in San Francisco. The fair, which received 30 percent more applications than last year, will see a 20 percent increase in exhibitors, or thirteen more participants. The primary FOG pavilion features forty-seven galleries, including Gladstone, Lehmann Maupin, David Zwirner, P.P.O.W, Perrotin, and Taka Ishii Gallery.
“I think the success of the fair last year has a lot to do with the resurgence of interest in San Francisco in general,” FOG director Sydney Blumenkranz told ARTnews. “There has definitely been this narrative that San Francisco was a bit down and out in the past few years, but that narrative has really turned around.”
To accommodate the larger number of exhibitors, the fair will also revise its layout, expanding the Focus pavilion to a second floor and adding some seven booths to the main exhibition area. The new layout will also make room for more visitors. “We’ve had lines out the door,” Blumenkranz said. “We’ve had to turn people away, and that’s not what we want. We want to be as inclusive as possible, and we want to be able to host as many people as possible.”
Blumenkranz also waved away doubts about blue-chip galleries’ inability to build a network of collectors among the Bay Area’s tech industry. “They are looking for ways to get involved in the art world, and the answer is FOG first and foremost. It’s a gateway to the wider art world for them.”
