Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has pledged efforts to improve digital services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that the benefits of technology should reach households across the province.
Speaking to journalists, the minister expressed hope that recent political changes in KP would bring greater stability and improve governance, creating opportunities to focus more closely on public welfare and digital development.
She said the federal government would work towards improving technology-related facilities in the province and expanding access to digital services for ordinary citizens.
“We will try to ensure that the benefits of technology reach every household,” Khawaja said, outlining her intention to make digital inclusion a priority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Better Coordination Needed for Digital Development
The minister also referred to challenges in coordination with the provincial administration in the past. She claimed that it had been difficult to engage with relevant counterparts because protests and political activity frequently disrupted discussions.
According to Khawaja, an improved political environment could make it easier for the federal and provincial governments to cooperate on initiatives aimed at strengthening public services and technological access.
Her remarks point to a renewed emphasis on digital development in KP, although she did not announce any specific new project, funding allocation, or timeline for expanding internet or other technology-related services.
The focus will now be on whether improved coordination translates into practical steps that make digital facilities more accessible to people across the province.
