By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belize is preparing to welcome a new international airline connection from Europe, with Discover Airlines announcing seasonal flights between Frankfurt, Germany, and Belize City beginning December 16, 2027.
The Belize Tourism Board announced the new service on Tuesday, describing it as an important step toward expanding the country’s international air connectivity and attracting more European visitors.
Flights will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, through mid-April 2028.
The schedule coincides with Belize’s peak winter tourism season, providing travelers from Germany and other European countries with another option for reaching the destination.
Minister of Tourism Anthony Mahler welcomed the announcement, saying the new connection represents a significant opportunity to diversify Belize’s tourism markets.
“Strengthening our presence in Europe is a key priority, and this new connection from Frankfurt opens opportunities to attract more visitors from Germany and across the region,” Mahler said.
Discover Airlines is part of the Lufthansa Group and specializes in leisure travel, operating flights from Frankfurt and Munich to international vacation destinations.
The new service will also allow travelers to connect through Lufthansa’s wider network, making Belize more accessible from several European markets.
For Belize’s tourism industry, the additional flights could create new opportunities for hotels, resorts, tour operators, restaurants and other businesses that depend on international visitors.
The Belize Tourism Board says it will work closely with Discover Airlines and tourism partners to promote the destination and strengthen Belize’s presence in the European travel market.
