Just when it seemed the Los Angeles Rams’ season couldn’t get any worse, one of their biggest stars went down without anybody touching him.
Wide receiver Davante Adams suffered an apparent left knee injury late in Sunday’s devastating 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at SoFi Stadium, adding another potentially catastrophic blow to a team whose Super Bowl aspirations are rapidly disappearing.
The injury occurred during the Rams’ final touchdown drive, when Adams suddenly pulled up in the back of the end zone and began hopping on one leg. He immediately reached for his left knee before limping toward the sideline.

Another brutal blow for the Rams. The hits just keep on coming. https://t.co/Fv155IdnkK

There was no collision, no defender dragging him down. Just an awkward movement and the unsettling sight of one of the NFL’s premier receivers struggling to walk.
Adams did not return, and the severity of his injury remains unknown. Rams’ head coach Sean McVay was not asked about Adams’ injury after the loss but will most likely provide an update during media availability on Monday afternoon.

Matthew Stafford eventually found tight end Colby Parkinson for a 6-yard touchdown, giving Los Angeles a brief 16-15 lead. But the Cardinals marched downfield in the final 47 seconds, aided by an unnecessary roughness penalty on Josh Wallace, before Chad Ryland drilled a 43-yard field goal as time expired.
Another gut punch for a Rams team that can’t seem to stop punching itself.
Adams finished with three receptions for 39 yards on four targets. Through six games, the veteran receiver has 27 catches for 441 yards and four touchdowns in his second season with Los Angeles.
