Star Ring is bringing Philips Hue-style ambient lighting effects to Tesla 3 and Y EVs with a smart lighting kit featuring customizable illumination. The system syncs multiple cabin light zones and supports software-driven feature expansion, offering Tesla owners a more immersive in-car lighting experience.
Philips Hue lovers can add similar lighting effects to their Tesla EVs with the upcoming Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit, which is now live on Kickstarter. The DIY light kit adds a variety of 360° light effects and safety features, with OEM-like fit, according to the company.
The Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit is compatible with the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. The components have been designed to fit the interior with leather wraps matching the original interiors.

The lighting effects can be customized and expanded through a smartphone app, allowing the system to gain new features over time.
Readers can preorder the Star Ring Tesla ambient light kit on Kickstarter at a Super Early Bird price of $509 for the Tesla Model 3 or Y kits, with shipping starting January 2027.
