ⓘ Grenaa Games
Fully released on Steam on May 13, 2024, Fabledom is a city builder in which you must develop your city, manage your resources, and put your citizens to work. But even though the focus isn't on combat, danger still lurks.
In a fairytale world, you'll have to build your colony and help it thrive. But unlike many city-building games, it isn't set in a historical period but in a world where fairytales come to life.
According to the developers at Grenaa Games, it is inspired by The Settlers and Foundation. As a result, you'll find similar mechanics: you'll need to settle in a new land, use the resources at your disposal, construct buildings, and expand your city.
The world around you is alive, and you'll discover many creatures by exploring different areas. But stay on your guard, as witches and a dragon also roam these lands.
As a ruler, you'll be able to establish diplomatic ties with other kingdoms. This will allow you to trade, unlock unique buildings, and even find love. Fabledom also includes combat mechanics, as you'll need to build an army and protect your kingdom from trolls.
As for player reviews, 85% of its 7,928 Steam reviews are positive. On Metacritic, it has a Metascore of 77 and a user score of 7.0. It is praised for its graphics, its relaxing gameplay, and its balanced difficulty. However, some players have encountered issues with the menus and user interface. Bugs that can hinder progress have also been reported. In addition, some players also feel that the world is empty.
Fabledom is now 65% off on Steam, bringing its price down from $20.99 to $7.34 until October 24, 2026. However, according to SteamDB, its lowest price was $6.29 during a 70% sale on May 31, 2026.
