PETALING JAYA: NCT World Sdn. Bhd. (NCT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NCT Alliance Berhad, and Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) have entered into a memorandum of collaboration (MoC) at SPARK 2026 – The 10th Selangor International Business Summit, to support the co-creation, establishment and development of the Selangor Robotic Manufacturing Ecosystem, as part of broader efforts to position Selangor as one of the region’s largest robotics and advanced manufacturing hubs.
Under the collaboration, NCT will participate as an industrial infrastructure partner, with NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) – Malaysia’s first Managed Industrial Park (MIP), located in the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (IDRISS), serving as one of the bases of the initiative. NSIP will provide factory facilities for robotics and automation manufacturers seeking to establish operations in Selangor.
Reflecting NSIP’s longstanding positioning as a destination for smart and high-technology industries, NCT will continue to actively advocate for and facilitate the establishment of robotics and automation manufacturers at the park. In support of this commitment, the MoC outlines flexible factory occupancy options for manufacturers introduced under the initiative, including outright purchase, rent-before-purchase arrangements and built factory infrastructure offered on a lease basis. These options are intended to enable manufacturers, particularly larger-scale operators, to commence operations with reduced set-up time and costs.
Sidec will facilitate the referral and introduction of local and foreign robotics manufacturers and investors to NCT’s industrial developments, while both parties will share relevant information, resources and industry insights to support the development and implementation of the initiative.
The collaboration will also bring together robotics and automation manufacturers, technology providers, talent and investors, with NSIP supporting the assembly, manufacturing and showcasing of robotics and automation products.
The initiative builds on Sidec’s semiconductor ecosystem anchored by the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 1 and 2 in Puchong and Cyberjaya, together with Advanced Semiconductor Academy Malaysia (ASEM) which have onboarded 20 companies and trained 850 engineers to date. Under the planned model, MRANTI Park will serve as the ecosystem’s third base, with NSIP as its assembly base, linking chip design and robotics development through to manufacturing.
NCT Alliance Berhad executive chairman and Group managing director, Datuk Sri Yap Ngan Choy said, “The industrial landscape is evolving rapidly, with robotics, automation and advanced manufacturing becoming increasingly important to Malaysia’s future competitiveness. Through this collaboration with Sidec, we aim to provide manufacturers with the infrastructure, flexibility and environment needed to establish and scale their operations in Selangor. Beyond providing industrial space, NSIP is designed to support an ecosystem where technology companies, manufacturers and investors can establish operations, showcase their capabilities and expand efficiently from Selangor.”
As part of the collaboration, NCT and Sidec also plan to co-organise a Malaysia–China Robotics Day in January 2027, which is expected to bring together 15 robotics and automation companies, comprising ten from the People’s Republic of China and five from Malaysia, to showcase technologies and promote investment and business-matching opportunities in Selangor, including at NSIP. The event is expected to be officiated by the Menteri Besar of Selangor and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia.
Following the event, the parties intend to establish a robotics exhibition hub at NSIP as a continuing platform for robotics and automation companies to exhibit their products, engage with potential customers and assess opportunities to establish operations in Selangor. Sidec will facilitate the participation of robotics companies in the hub.
The collaboration is already translating into tenant activity at NSIP. TCab Tech (M) Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian arm of China-based eVTOL developer TCab Tech, is expected to bring its five-seat E20 tilt-rotor aircraft to NSIP for display by November 2026, following the aircraft’s month-long Malaysian debut at IOI City Mall launched with SIDEC on Oct 9, 2026.
TCab Tech is also in discussions to establish an operational base at the park, as is DF Automation & Robotics Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian manufacturer of industrial autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). Together, the two companies position NSIP as a base for both advanced air mobility and industrial automation.
Sidec CEO, Yong Kai Ping said, “This collaboration represents an important step towards building Selangor into one of the region’s largest robotics and advanced manufacturing hubs. By bringing together technology companies, investors and industrial infrastructure partners such as NCT, we aim to create an ecosystem that enables industries including but not limited to robotics, and automation players to establish, manufacture, showcase and scale their operations from Selangor. NSIP is well suited for this, with complete infrastructure, strong exposure and a strategic location, as well as ready-built factories that allow players to come in and start operations right away. With NSIP serving as one of the bases of this ecosystem, we see strong potential to attract both local and international companies looking for a strategic entry point into Malaysia, while creating more opportunities for technology collaboration, investment and industry development.”
The initiative is aligned with Sidec’s mandate to lead Selangor’s digital transformation, accelerate the growth of technology companies, support business digitalisation and encourage digital investment and emerging technologies.
For NCT, the collaboration marks another step in strengthening NSIP’s role as a future-ready industrial platform for technology-led manufacturing. By supporting the growth of robotics, automation and advanced manufacturing activities, NCT aims to further position NSIP as a strategic base for companies seeking to establish and expand their operations in Selangor.
Beyond industrial infrastructure, NCT has a strategic participation as a limited partner in the RM100 million Ehsan Semiconductor Fund, co-founded by Sidec. The fund invests in semiconductor technologies, ecosystem enablers and semiconductor-enabled industries, including but not limited to robotics, Low Altitude Economy (LAE) players and autonomous systems manufacturers, in line with Malaysia’s National Semiconductor Strategy. The fund targets full deployment of the initiative over the next five year. Through its participation, NCT aims to help nurture the next generation of companies in the sector and invest in those with strong growth potential, with NSIP positioned as a base for such companies to scale their manufacturing operations in Selangor.
