An India Today investigation on Postmortem examines the operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal network following a daylight shooting targeting actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu on October 18, 2026. Tiger Shroff narrowly survived when shooters opened fire on his car, leaving his driver and a bystander injured. Shortly after the attack, US-based gangster Anil Pandit claimed responsibility on social media on behalf of the Bishnoi syndicate, issuing warnings against anyone collaborating with Salman Khan. Multi-state police operations led to the arrest of three young shooters from Kota, Rajasthan, alongside several logistics and weapon suppliers from Delhi and Haryana. Investigators revealed the shooters initially conducted reconnaissance around Salman Khan's heavily guarded residence before shifting to Tiger Shroff after tracking his football routine online. Despite Bishnoi's continuous solitary confinement in Gujarat's Sabarmati Central Jail, the report raises scrutiny over how the syndicate coordinates overseas handlers, recruits youth via social media, and continues extortion plots across Bollywood.

The Janata Dal (United) has expelled Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh and his wife, former MLA Neelam Devi, for six years and cancelled their primary membership with immediate effect. The disciplinary measure follows Singh's decision to defy party lines during the Bihar Legislative Council elections, where he campaigned against official JDU candidate Neeraj Kumar in the Patna Graduates' constituency and instead backed Jan Suraaj candidate Anuj Singh. Despite attempts by senior leadership to mollify him, Singh remained defiant and levelled claims against the party leadership. Accusing him of anti-party activities, the party has also recommended the termination of his membership as an MLA from the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
