Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin have recently received an unexpected invitation and are already in the WNBA offseason. On Wednesday, Matt Rife invited the Indiana Fever players to watch his presentation in a video that he shared on Instagram.
The comedian’s most well-known role was in the 2017 cast of “Wild ‘n Out.” Since then, he has produced comedic specials such as “Walking Red Flag,” “Only Fans,” and “Matthew Steven Rife.” Additionally, the 31-year-old has a sizable social media following, over 11.4 million on Instagram.
In contrast, the Fever, Clark, and Cunningham advanced to the playoffs as the sixth-seeded team. On October 1, they forced a winner-take-all Game 3 in their first-round series against the Las Vegas Aces. However, they lost 94-83 at Michelob Ultra Arena, failing to unseat the reigning champs.
Rife revealed that on November 8, he will perform at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. In the post, he joked that he would play one-on-one with Clark and said he hoped to see her and Cunningham at the event.
Rife penned, saying, “INDIANA!!!! Nov. 8th 🥰 Get your tickets to see me play @caitlinclark22 1v1 😻. Cannot guarantee Caitlin or Sophie will be there. But i hope they are and i hope they don’t make me look short.”
By the end of the season, Cunningham will be an unrestricted free agent. Teams in the WNBA will probably be interested in her since she is an enforcer who contributes valuable minutes off the bench. It’s unclear if the 30-year-old will accept an offer from the Fever; thus, it’s unclear if she will return.
Clark has been maximizing her offseason in the meantime. The Nike Caitlin 1s, her first signature sneaker, were introduced globally on October 1 and have been incredibly popular. Taylor Swift recently attended a live Kansas City Chiefs game.
