As of 17 October, 5:20 pm ET (22:20 Lisbon), updated every 20 minutes. Prices are bets, not polls, and can move fast.
Why we show this: prediction markets turn real-money bets into a live probability that moves within minutes of the news, which is why investors, campaigns and newsrooms in the United States now follow them closely. We show them next to polls and official results, never instead of them.
BRASÍLIA — This guide is for people who live in the capital, not weekend tourists. It covers things to do in Brasília in October 2026 from Saturday 17 October to Halloween, with venues, prices where published and practical notes for expats and long-stay visitors.
The second half of the month is strong. A sertanejo (Brazilian country-pop) duo plays its first stadium show on 17 October, a free jazz series says goodbye on the 22nd to 24th, and a music festival and a talks evening close October.
Politics shares the calendar. Brazil votes in the second round on Sunday 25 October, and the race for governor of the Federal District is one of the governor run-offs, with polling stations open from 08:00 to 17:00.
Prices below are in reais with the US dollar value in brackets, converted at about R$5.07 per US$1 (16 October 2026). Where a price has not been published, we say so instead of guessing.

Planning your Brasília in October
Sunday 25 October is the second round of voting. In the Federal District the governor’s race goes to a run-off, so expect heavy political news.
Check venue pages for any schedule changes that day, and see our report on moved polling places if you are registered to vote locally.
Brasília is a car city, and the venues above sit far apart. Use ride-hailing apps for late shows at the Centro Cultural Três Poderes or the Centro de Convenções, and allow extra time before and after big events.
For more October ideas in another Brazilian capital, see our Belo Horizonte guide.
Ticket sellers for the Zé Neto and Cristiano show capped sales at six per CPF. Visitors without a CPF should ask the box office or the organiser how to buy for big concerts.
For last-minute changes, check Agenda BSB, the cultural roundups of Correio Braziliense and Metrópoles, and Agência Brasília. Organisers’ own pages and ticket platforms remain the final word on times and prices.
What it means for you
For a visitor from the United States, October is cheap by comparison with major US stadium shows. Stadium seats for Zé Neto and Cristiano started at about US$16 at half price in the first lot, and the jazz finale costs nothing.
The free events, Buraco do Jazz and the theatre festival, are the easiest way to meet the city’s residents. The paid ones, especially the Estilo Brasil opening, are best bought through the official channels listed above.
