Bitcoin briefly surpassed $84,000 during the day before falling back to $82,000, while treasury companies continued their purchases.
Firstly, Strategy, the world’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, also made purchases this week.
According to a statement by Strategy founder Michael Saylor, Strategy purchased an additional 250 Bitcoin. This brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 848,250 BTC. The company also repurchased $192 million worth of preferred shares in STRC.
Saylor noted that Strategy also holds $5.5 billion in assets, adding that these dollar-denominated assets could cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.5 years.
“Strategy purchased 250 BTC and repurchased STRC worth $192 million. As of October 11, 2026, we hold 848,250 BTC and $5.5 billion USD in assets.”
Ethereum Purchases Continue!
Bitmine, the world’s largest holder of Ethereum, also announced last week that it purchased an additional 12,532 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 6,028,946 ETH. According to the announcement, this represents 4.9% of the total circulating ETH supply.
The official statement indicated that Bitmine’s total assets, including cryptocurrency, cash, marketable securities, and strategic investment assets, amount to $16.2 billion.
This figure includes 6.03 million ETH, 214 Bitcoin, $612 million in cash and marketable securities, $180 million worth of Beast Industries shares, and $85 million worth of Eightco Holdings shares.
Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee stated, “We believe the company will outperform the crypto bull market we anticipate, given that it strengthened its competitive position last year amidst the crypto winter (bear market). A significant portion of our 6 million ETH accumulation occurred during the downturn in the crypto market, and as the company approaches its 5% ETH accumulation target, we believe it is in an attractive position ahead of the upcoming crypto bull market.”
Solana Procurement Announced Too!
Last week, Nasdaq-listed company DeFi Development Corp. announced it had purchased an additional 22,070 Solana, bringing its total SOL holdings to 2.58 million. The company also stated that it generated additional SOL and commission income by using its SOL holdings for staking and operating its own validator.
DeFi Development Corp CEO Joseph Onorati said, “Short-term fluctuations haven’t changed our belief or commitment to accumulating SOL. These market developments indicate that Solana will play a much larger role in global finance, and we intend to continue accumulating and multiplying our SOL before this opportunity arises.”
