Name: Žak Smrekar
Position: Guard/Forward
Number: 24
Height/Weight: 6’6” 204 lbs
Hometown: Novo Mesto, Slovenia
Last Season: Smrekar comes from Krka Novo Mesto in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM and ABA League. Last season, he was a key starter that contributed 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in ABA play.
Season Outlook: Smrekar will likely slot in as a contributing player as a wing, but he brings real ball-handling skills and basketball IQ, so we could see him run some offense for the Eagles if his transition into NCAA basketball goes well. His shooting definitely needs some work and it could take some time for him to develop, but the opportunity is there for him to make an impact.
