You'll need at least a few hours to stop this war
Call of Duty never has the longest campaigns in the world, but even so, you may be wondering how long Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is, because there is often some disparity from one game to the next. While the story here is a continuation of the Modern Warfare arc, following Captain Price as he's now on the run after assassinating General Shepherd, you also play as Sierra-1, a squad embroiled in a Korean war.
The Modern Warfare 4 campaign is full of highlights, marking one of the best single-player Call of Duty experiences in a while. Here's how long it takes to beat it.
How long to beat the Modern Warfare 4 campaign
On average, we expect it will take players around eight to ten hours to beat the Modern Warfare 4 campaign. When playing it for review, I hit the credits in nine, but I also had to replay one mission due to a bug, and I spent time exploring as much as possible.
Your playtime in the Modern Warfare 4 campaign will depend on a few factors, the most significant of which is the difficulty you play on. If you're tackling it on veteran, expect to die quite a lot, which means missions will take much longer.
There's also a mission around the halfway point called "Stranded," which is open-world, with a bunch of side objectives and activities to tackle. You can either fast travel to the three main objectives, or spend hours searching every nook and cranny in the snowy North Korean countryside. I did around half of the content in this mission before cracking on with the rest of the campaign. If you complete everything here, expect your time to run closer to the 12-13 hour mark.
