Stephen A. Smith has been full of praise for Kansas City Chiefs star Kenneth Walker III this week.
Walker joined the Chiefs earlier this year on the back of being named the 2026 Super Bowl MVP for the Seattle Seahawks.
He has carried that excellent form into the new season and has helped the 5-0 Chiefs get back to their best after a disappointing 2025/26.
Now, when speaking alongside Michael Irvin on the ‘Stephen A. Smith Sports’ YouTube channel, Smith called Walker ‘next level’ and shared that he is currently on course to rush for over 2,200 yards this season.
He said: “When I think about newcomers, I think about two people that stand out in my mind. Mike Evans in San Francisco, even though he just got hurt this past Monday night.
“And I’m thinking about K9, Kenneth Walker III, for the Kansas City Chiefs. Do you realise that right now Kenneth Walker III is on pace to run, to rush for over 2,200 yards and he’s on pace to have over 2,500 yards from scrimmage this year. This brother is a next-level kind of stud right now.”
If he were to keep up that pace for all of this campaign, he would break the record for single-season rushing yards in the NFL during the regular season (2,105 in 1984).
But for now, Walker should be focused on facing his former team for the first time this week as the Chiefs aim to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
