Legendary NFL coach Mike Tomlin is on to the next chapter of his career, serving as an analyst for NBC's "Football Night in America."
Tomlin spent the last 19 years as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, winning a Super Bowl with the franchise in 2008. Many analysts try their best to be unbiased, but Tomlin has no intention to hide his deep love for the Steelers organization.
“To be honest with ya, I don’t care if I do,” Tomlin said, via Pittsburgh Steelers on SI. “How can you be somewhere 19 years, man, and had really a personal stake in most of the guys being there and not care for ’em? Not root for ’em? Not be for ’em?
"I’m not gonna pretend that I’m not. I can’t do that. Certainly, I got a job to do, and I’m gonna do it. But everybody knows where my heart is and where my support is, and I’m not apologizing for that.”
The Steelers are 3-2 to open up the season under new head coach Mike McCarthy. This coming Sunday, they'll face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 6 matchup.
