Netflix has released the final trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the upcoming 10-episode anime set in the dystopian world of Cyberpunk 2077. Produced by Studio Trigger in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the series will premiere worldwide on Netflix on October 20, 2026, introducing an entirely new central cast and an original storyline set in Night City.

The trailer introduces Roman Carax, a young cinephile who documents the chaos around him, alongside Talia Yang, D, and veteran edgerunner Weak Kingsley. As Roman films Talia in action, the preview shifts between their encounters and glimpses of D’s troubled past. Kingsley also attempts to connect with Talia, suggesting that they share experiences she is reluctant to acknowledge. The footage teases a story shaped by loss, violence and the pursuit of redemption.
Unlike the 2022 series, which followed David Martinez and his crew, the new instalment tells a standalone story with new characters. Its official synopsis describes the series as a chronicle of revenge and redemption, asking what extremes people will go to make their stories matter in a city where violence and spectacle dominate everyday life. The trailer also offers glimpses of Night City’s criminal underworld and the dangers facing its new protagonists and is soundtracked by “High Forever (Marlon Hoffstadt Remix)” by Petite Meller, which features in the new preview.

Kai Ikarashi directs the series, taking over from Hiroyuki Imaishi, who helmed the first instalment. Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka return as key creative figures, with Sztybor serving as showrunner, story writer and producer. Kanno Ichigo is responsible for the character designs, while Studio Trigger returns to handle the animation.
The Japanese voice cast includes Momoka Terasawa as Roman Carax, Akari Kito as Talia Yang, Koki Uchiyama as D and Kentaro Tone as Weak Kingsley. The English-language cast features Valeria Rodriguez, Kimoy Lee, Nazeeh Tarsha and Clancy Brown in the corresponding roles.

The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premiered in September 2022 and earned widespread critical acclaim for its animation, characters and tragic storyline, eventually being crowned Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2023. Set in the same universe as the video game Cyberpunk 2077, the series helped expand the franchise’s audience beyond gaming. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2026, with all 10 episodes forming a new, self-contained story.
