The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun I Area Command, says it has seized prohibited goods worth N3.15bn within 15 days in Ogun State.
The Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Abdulhamid Ibrahim, disclosed this on Thursday at a press conference in Idiroko, Ogun State.
Ibrahim said the seized items included foreign rice, unregistered drugs, vehicles, pasta, cannabis and other prohibited goods.
He said officers intercepted three trucks conveying foreign pasta and condensed milk, as well as another truck carrying 100 bags of foreign rice concealed beneath mica and gypsum stones, along the Afamin-Dangote-Itori axis on October 2 and 4.
The customs chief added that officers intercepted another truck on October 11 containing 27,831 assorted unregistered drugs and 321 military camouflage face caps.

He said five trucks valued at about N1.235bn would be forfeited to the Federal Government in line with the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.
Ibrahim warned smugglers to stay away from the command’s area of operation, adding that the service would continue to collaborate with other security agencies to protect public health, national security and local businesses.
