If you’ve watched Sex and the City, you’ll remember Charlotte’s brief but all-consuming with her rabbit toy – so intense, in fact, the gang staged a so-called ‘rabbit intervention’. Consider this your warning: the same could easily happen with this Ann Summers bunny, which earned glowing reviews from our testers across the board. Many praised how easy the buttons were to use, while others loved how naturally the shape hits the body. “It’s great as a starter for people who haven’t used one before,” said one panel member.
Aesthetically, it’s bold blue colour and distinctive silhouette makes it instantly recognisable. Plus, it’s pleasingly quiet, so it can stay discreetly tucked away in a secure bunny burrow until needed.

If you’re looking for a quality, reliable and premium-feeling vibrator, this one from Lovehoney hits the spot. It’s made from soft-against-the-skin silicone and has a weighty feel, which our testers said felt very high-end. The ergonomic design makes it easy to hold for extended periods of time, which also meant the long battery life came in handy. Panel members’ only niggle was that the magnetic charging cable can easily fall off. So make sure it’s properly connected when charging up to avoid disappointment when you need it next.
It’s versatile, too, as it can be used to massage general aches and pains across the body. “It helped release tension and relieved my ankle and calve pain,” said one panel member who put it to full use.

Pros
- Impressive performance, according to panel
- Attractive, ergonomic design
- Fully waterproof
Cons
- Pricey
- Instructions could be clearer
Score: 81/100
This good-looking vibrator stands out for its unique tear-shape design. According to Lelo, the fine, bendable tip means it’s extra precise and won’t numb the entire area around the clitoris, allowing for multiple orgasms. Moving in a constant figure-of-eight pattern around your erogenous zones – instead of circular motions like traditional sex toys – the brand promises a “sweeping release of sensations”.
Sure enough, it was a big hit with our testers, with one enthusiastic panellist describing it as, “the best vibrator ever”. Everyone praised the soft, supple material and agreed it was extremely quiet, giving them the confidence to use it with others at home or when travelling.
Any downsides? The instructions could have been clearer, and the unusual design may take some getting used to, but we think it’s worth the effort.

How we test vibrators

We asked our Good Housekeeping Institute testing panel, made up of over 130 women of all ages, to put a range of vibrators – including bullets, rabbits, G-spot toys and suction devices – through their paces.
Every product was tested by at least five people, who made sure it lived up to any claims made on the box. This included trying every speed setting, vibration type and any wireless features, as offered by toys like Ricky's Match up Couple Vibrator with Wireless Remote. They also considered noise levels, battery life and additional features like carry cases.
After the trial period, testers reported their findings to our senior sleep & wellness tester, who collated all the feedback and awarded each product a final score.
Why trust the Good Housekeeping Institute

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we’ve been testing products for over 100 years – including everything from the best clitoral suction devices to the best bullet vibrators – so we know what we’re looking for in a reliable buy.
This test was led by Kim Hawley, our senior sleep and wellness tester, who has over 20 years' of experience working in leading health clubs across the UK. She used her expertise to set rigorous protocols to measure each vibrator against. We also recruited a panel of over 130 women to assess the devices and provide their honest feedback.
Our sleep and wellness editor, Priyankaa Joshi, and our lifestyle writer, Madeleine Evans, work closely with the testing team to make sure we're asking all the right questions and interpreting the results so you can choose the best option for you. They both have years of experience writing about sleep, health and wellness.

Which type of vibrator is best?
Bullet and clitoral vibrators: For external clitoral contact, most people turn to a bullet or clitoral vibrator. These are very similar, except the latter is often larger in size and has a stronger motor. Bullet vibrator make a great choice for first-timers because they’re compact, silent and small. In recent years, clitoral suction vibrators have also become popular – they replicate the sensation of oral sex through the use of air and pulsations.
Wand vibrators: Designed exclusively for external clitoral stimulation, wand vibrators feature a round, vibrating massage head attached to a long shaft (or wand). As they’re bigger than most vibrators, the handles can host larger motors, allowing them to produce deeper vibrations than a bullet. These are best for use at home.
Rabbit vibrators: These have two key parts: a main shaft for internal use and a separate massager designed to stimulate your clitoris. This is often in the shape of “rabbit” ears, hence the alternative name. While this design remains constant, rabbit vibrators can come in all shapes and sizes.
G-spot vibrators: These are designed to be used internally and have a curved tip to stimulate your G-spot — this is the term often used to describe the cluster of nerves on the front of your vaginal wall.
How to choose a vibrator
Dimensions: Check the dimensions to be sure you’re happy with the size as it may be bigger or smaller than you first thought. If you're using the vibrator at home, a large device should be fine, but if you want to take it on trips, look for a mini vibrator.
Settings, speeds and power: Consider the range of settings and speeds on offer – beginners may prefer a simple device with fewer vibration modes and a selection of gentle settings, while advanced users may enjoy a more powerful experience and like having a wide variety of settings to play with.
Noise level: This is especially important if you're worried about being overheard. Look for “whisper-quiet” vibrators, but take any claims with a pinch of salt. You could also check the product description for the decibel level; anything 40db or below is very quiet.
Material: There are three main types – plastic, silicone and skin-safe rubber. Plastic is the most firm, silicone has a velvety feel and skin-safe properties (well-known brands only use medical-grade silicone), while skin-safe rubber is softer and more flexible.
How to clean your vibrator
As sex toys come into contact with bodily fluids, it's crucial you know how to clean them properly. Most vibrators can be cleaned using gentle soap and warm water, or you can buy a specialist sex toy cleaning spray, with options available from Lelo, Intimina and So Divine.
It's advisable to clean your toy straight after use or as soon as you can. Make sure it's completely dry before stashing it away, as moisture can encourage bacteria to grow. To prevent your toy from getting dusty, it's a good idea to store it a pouch or box.
Of course, cleaning protocols vary depending on material and waterproofing capabilities. Consult the user manual that came with your device or look for instructions online. If you're unable to find any information, it's worth contacting the brand to request help.
How often should you replace your vibrator?
This depends on a range of different factors, including material, frequency of use and whether you've been cleaning it regularly. A good-quality rechargeable sex toy should last you several years. A cheaper, battery-powered option may not last quite as long.
If your sex toy looks rusty, discoloured or just generally worse for wear, it's probably time to replace it. Similarly, if the battery looks damaged or there are frayed electrical wires, then you should look for a new vibrator.
